Lenta has reported third quarter (Q3) and nine months (9M) 2014 results ending 30 September 2014.

Sales
9M 2014 Results

Sales increased 36.3% year-over-year (y-o-) to RUB 134.4 billion (EUR 2.5 billion) as compared to RUB 98.7 billion (EUR 1.8 billion) in the previous year.
Like-for-like (LFL) LFL sales increased 12%.
•    Average basket LFL increased 6.3%
•    Traffic LFL increased 5.4%.
Hypermarket sales increased 33.1% to RUB 130.9 billion. LFL increased 12%
•    Average basket LFL increased 6.4%
•    Traffic LFL increased 5.3%.
Supermarket sales increased 1,110.6% to RUB 3.5 billion. LFL increased 23.1%.
•    Average basket LFL increased 0.7%
•    Traffic LFL increased 22.3%.

Q3 2014 Results
Sales increased 32.9% to RUB 48.5 billion (EUR 931 million) as compared to RUB 36.5 billion (EUR 701 million) in the previous year.
LFL sales increased 8.9% y-o-y.
•    Average basket LFL increased 4.5%
•    Traffic LFL increased 4.2%.
Hypermarket sales increased 32.9% to RUB 48.5 billion. LFL increased 8.9%
•    Average basket LFL increased 0.1%
•    Traffic LFL increased 13.4%.
Supermarket sales increased 467% to RUB 1.3 billion. LFL increased 13.6%.
•    Average basket LFL increased 0.7%
•    Traffic LFL increased 22.3%.

Stores
During Q3 2014 the retailer opened five hypermarkets and two supermarkets.
During 9M 2014 the retailer opened 10 hypermarkets and six supermarkets.

Selling Area
Total selling area increased 37% y-o-y to 569,803 square meters at the end of the 9M 2014 period.

Outlook
Lenta has confirmed its guidance to open 24 hypermarkets and 15 supermarkets during 2014 in accordance to the plan to double net selling space between 2013 and 2016.
The retailer expects selling area to increase at least 30% y-o-y in net selling space during 2014.
Sales guidance remains unchanged, expecting a 34 to 38% growth y-o-y.
