Despite speculation regarding Tesco selling Blinkbox, it has announced the launch of a brand campaign “fresh from cinema” in an attempt to strengthen its current position in the VOD market
- The campaign will include 30-second TV spots featuring a voiceover stating that 'the following movie has been rated fresh from cinema,' before displaying the latest titles on the service.
- The ad, developed by creative agency Antidote, will run across buses, video-on-demand and digital advertising, with all media planning overseen by Arena Media.
- Blinkbox has also launched its first digital movie and TV locker service with Ultraviolet. This allows customers to build digital collections from selected physical DVDs or blu-rays they have bought in Tesco stores.
