Tesco launched its first tailored convenience store, “ultra convenient” format, in London, along with its Metro stores, to focus on office travelers and shoppers on the go. The retailer has shifted its focus to local communities its stores serve, rather than offering a Universal range.

  • The new format offers sandwich meal deals, prepacked sushi and salads, as well as salad and a hot food bar.
    • It will bring in 10 self-service checkout counters in every store to reduce the queue traffic.
  • The new store emphasizes more on the ready made food products in comparison to its existing Metro stores.
